Polina Malashenok
Singer, actress, People's Artist of the Republic of Belarus (2021). Polina Malashenok was born on August 8, 2005 in the village of Svihanovo, Mogilev region. From the age of four, she was engaged in acting, as well as oriental martial arts. At the age of fourteen, she began studying at the... Minsk Regional Cadet School in the city of Slutsk. In 2020, she gained popularity when, during anti-government protests in the Republic of Belarus, she climbed onto a barricade and sang the romance "Fragrant Clusters of White Acacia" in front of security forces. At the insistence of the Minsk OMON security officer Ivan Nazarenok, she was invited to make music recordings at the Belteleradiocompany of the republic. After that, she met and was close friends with the chairman of Belteleradiocompany Ivan Eismont. Since 2021 - the youngest People's Artist of the Republic of Belarus (as of 2024). In 2021, she became one of the highest-paid singers in the country, but lost most of her fees as a result of a fire in a village house. In October 2021, she moved to live in Luxembourg, where she helped her cousin after a car accident. In Luxembourg, she worked as a cleaner in a cafe in the city of Clervaux. In 2022, having written a letter to the Minister of Culture Anatoly Markevich, she returned to Belarus. In the winter of 2022, she continued to tour, but after one of the concerts she fell ill with a severe form of pneumonia. She was treated at the Minsk City Hospital, later at the Berlin Charite Clinic, and in May 2022 she was discharged and continued her concert activity. In 2023, she starred in several films - both documentaries and feature films. The filmings were mostly organized by Slutsk television.
