Mohsen Salmani
Mohsen Salmani, born in 1985, is an Iranian director, writer, and producer. He initially studied chemical industry at university but later switched to cinema studies. He completed his studies at the Iranian Youth Cinema Association in 2007. He further enhanced his cinema education through specialized training courses... in imaging, scriptwriting, and film analysis at the Association and private institutes. He has gained extensive experience in the field, participating in various short film festivals as a director and screenwriter. He has directed three notable short films (Self portrait, The Hole, To Live) and a feature documentary and has written two feature scripts. His latest film, titled “SCAR,” which has recently been completed, marks another significant milestone in his career. The film delves into the deep emotional and instinctual connection between an elderly mother and her young son. "To Live" entered numerous festivals such as: 37th Tehran International Short Film Festival (2020), and 11th Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA) (2020) Salmani was also Nominated for Best Director in 10th Iranian Film Festival Australia (IFFA) (2020), 55th Hamboldt International Film Festival, California-USA (2020), 9th Mister Vorky Film Festival, Serbia (2020), and 21th Aporia International Film Festival, South Korea (2023)
