Gemia Foo is an exceptionally talented actress popularly known for her leading and supporting roles in films, TV, theatre, and voice credits. Fueled by her passion to humanize real-life stories, Gemia has a way of bringing her characters to life that has made her a favorite among casting agents, directors,... and producers. In 2008, Gemia scored her first comedy role in the two-season TV series, ‘My Classmate, Dad’, where she played the lead character alongside famous Golden Horse Award nominee, Mark Lee. Gemia was also featured in Apprentice, a Singaporean film that won many prestigious awards in the film industry. Gemia Foo is a passionate advocate for mental health. Her lead role in Mama (2021) film has brought crucial awareness towards the mental and emotional plight of caregivers. Gemia is regularly cast in “Talking It Out”, a play festival organized to raise funds for National Alliance on Mental Illness. She played several outstanding leads in this festival that was held at the Dramatists Guild Foundation in New York City. Gemia is a scholarship graduate from LASALLE College of the Arts, having majored in Drama. She has also trained with Emmy Award-winning Casting Director, Judy Henderson, in a film/TV acting course. Gemia’s other TV credits include Code of Law, HBO’s Invisible Stories and This Land is Mine. Her special skills include voice acting, singing, playing the alto horn, running conversations in Mandarin, and emulating multiple accents.
