Evelyn Sioupi

Evelyn Sioupi was born in 1963 in Thessaloniki and studied from 1983 to 1985 at the London College of Fashion. She started as a fashion designer, participating in the Biennales of Young Designers in 1986 and 1987. She began collaborating with the well-known duo Papathanasiou-Reppa in the TV series “The... Double Sin”, where she created the character of Yolanda Raya played by Dina Konsta, which she later developed into “Two Strangers”, with the character of Denise Markora. She then took over “Dolce Vita” with Anna Panagiotopoulou and Katiana Balanika, while many other series followed where she imposed a recognizable style in the television comedy and in the films “Safe Sex” (sets - costumes) of 1999, “The Cry Came Out of Paradise” of 2001, “Strictly Suitable” of 2008, but also in the drama “Oxygono”, always alongside Papathanasiou-Reppa. As expected, she participated in the television version of “In-Laws from Tirana” on MEGA, while her last work was “In-Laws from Tirana” for Mega. In the theater, she collaborated with the State Theater of Northern Greece, the National Theater, the Theater of the South / Amore, and with the independent theater in major productions with directors Nikos Mastorakis, Stamatis Fasoulis, Vangelis Theodoropoulos, Kostas Arzoglou, Giorgos Kimoulis, Kostas Bakas, Yiannis Iordanidis, Stefanos Lazaridis, Stamatis Kraounakis, Kostas Spyropoulos, Yiannis Tsivilikas, Haris Roma, Alexandros Rigas, the poet Giorgos Chronas and others. Selected works: "Santa Claus is a piece of shit", "In a few words, ladies", "Terrible parents", "Triptych", "Demons", "One day in October", "Unplug the minister", "The Evros opposite", "Tales from the Vienna Woods", "Two and a half murders and a bulldog", "Another for the garden", "Dinner for idiots", "What did the goldfish see", "With power from Kifissia", "Which Helen?", "Attica Highway", "To live or not to live", "Men ready for anything", "Tse-tse fly", "Guess who will die tonight", "Dawn", "My name is James Dean", "Churchgoers", "Longshoremen and Kontogiorgides”, “Our Cinema”. She was honored three times with the Costume Design Award: in 2003 for the play “The Stork Brings the Babies” by Papathanasiou-Reppa, in 2007 for “Tsinetsita” by Papathanasiou-Reppa and in 2012 for “To Live or Not to Live” by Nick Whitby (Katia Dandoulaki’s troupe). She participated in the exhibition “Moments of Creation in Time: 55 Years of the NTNG” (October 2016), with costumes from the play “Tales from the Vienna Woods” by Eden von Horwart.
