
Elena de Aras
Audiovisual Communication student (US). She started creating audiovisual content at a young age, experimenting with video editing and montage as a hobby. In 2019, she directed her first music video for Mauricio Buendía's single "Crawling Back To You", which led to further projects and a growing connection with short... films. In 2023, her career gained momentum as she worked as an assistant director on "Milagrosa" for Ubrique de Cine. In March, she co-founded "Límite", a youth audiovisual collective, to participate in the III Edition of "Castilblanco y ¡Acción!". Her work as a director stands out in the DHRueda competition with "Y nosotros también", which won five awards: Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Integrated Slogan, Best Emerging Short Film, and Second Prize. She also participated in the "Rally 36h" of the *Mairena Creativa* competition with "Philm"—where she served as director, screenwriter, and editor—winning Best Screenplay. Her latest projects include "Durmiente" by María Gómez, where she worked as a Production Director. The film, part of the "Rodando Por Jaén" competition, features actors such as Lorca Prada ("El universo de Óliver"), Manué Rodríguez, and Marta Hoyos ("La chica invisible"). Another recent work, "Pepita Petanca", co-directed with Alejandro Mateos, won Best Cinematography at "Guadalcanal en Corto". Her most recent projects are "Hacia la Victoria" and "Laia".
