Chris Wade
Chris Wade is a Leeds based musician, writer, filmmaker and artist. He is most known for his critically acclaimed music project DODSON AND FOGG. He worked with the late Rik Mayall on an audio recording of his novel Cutey and the Sofaguard, records with Nigel Planer under the name Rainsmoke... and pens books on music and film, as well as writing the ongoing Hound Dawg Magazine. He also wrote and directed the film, THE APPLE PICKER, featuring Nigel Planer and Toyah Willcox, which was picked as official selection for the Sydney World Film Festival. His first documentary was about the jazz singing surrealist George Melly, which was premiered at the Chelsea Arts Club in October 2018 and went on to have a number of theatrical screenings. He also made The immortal Orson Welles, which was shown on Talking Pictures TV. His articles have been featured in such publications as Dark Side Magazine and Shindig. He lives with his partner artist Linzi Napier, daughter Lily, a rabbit named Bing, a fish named Gil, and 4 cats, Malcolm, Fat Ozwald, Violet and Mr Bottomsley. Chris started writing full time in 2009. In 2010, Chris worked with Rik Mayall on an audiobook of his comedic story Cutey and the Sofaguard. A year later he worked with comedian Charlie Chuck on an audiobook called You Only Live Once (Thank Goodness). He began writing non fiction and fiction titles regularly, and also started Hound Dawg Magazine, an online arts publication, that has included a blog, free PDFs and physical magazines. In 2012 he started his music project Dodson and Fogg, which has featured such people as Hawkwind's Nik Turner, Nigel Planer, Toyah, Scarlet Rivera and Celia Humphris of folk legends Trees. He continues to write books, release music, make experimental films, and work on other projects. His subjects for non fiction include Madonna, Bob Dylan, Dennis Hopper and many others. Over the years he has conducted Q and As and interviews with such varied people as Sharon Stone, Donovan, Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and Henry Jaglom. He also worked with Peep Show star Matt King on the audiobook The Hunt for the Mayor of Smoochyville. His documentaries have focused on George Melly, Orson Welles and Charlie Chaplin.
